Novemterra Timeline According to P.W. System

The Miderthian P.W. (Post-War) calendar system was established by reviving kingdoms and realms on the Fifth Shell during the official Rebuilding period (101-800 P.W.), and based on the concluding year of the War of Ultimates. The P.W. system does not specifically account for events that occurred before the War of Ultimates, as kingdom officials and authorities of realms simply use "in the old age" or "long, long ago." For the sake of historical record, Miderthian historians and loremasters often refer to pre-War events as "Prew" (eg. "The Creator seeded life on Novemterra around 5000 Prew").

700 P.W. is the year most historians agree that civilizations had recovered sufficiently to elevate their peoples above the survivalistic standards of living that had plagued them for so long in the aftermath of the War of Ultimates, and especially during the Centiyear of Darkness, during which the entire world was still reeling from the earthshattering conclusion of the War of Ultimates. The Centiyear of Darkness was a time of suffering and despair and chaos, as there was widespread, rampant violence, darkness and oppression, and no established systems of rule anywhere in the known world.


Novemterra Chronology

Year -5000+? - The Creator seeds life on Novemterra

Year -3503? – First written record of ancient progenitor races, such as the Cetra, and the High Elves

Year -3500 to -3001 – The Age of Preparation (during which Novemterrans readied their world for presentation to the divines)

Year -3000 to -2000 – First Golden Age (divines were sent by their over-deities to live among mortals)

Year -2000 to -1801 – Time of Solitude (progenitor races begin expressing isolationist policies, expanding their own empires)

Year -1800 to -1300 – Second Golden Age (divines once again sent to live among mortals)

Year -1299 to -1100 – The Unknown Years (no historical records found for this period)

Year -1099 to -1000 – Third Golden Age (divines live among mortals, accompanied by over-deities)

Year -999 to -750 – The Decline (decadence and decline of Novemterran civilization across the world)

Year -749 to -531 – The Maddening Silence (no written records of events during this time; empires were probably preparing for conflict)

Year -530 – The War of Ultimates begins

Year -100 – The Final Battle for Septerra Core begins, for one hundred years

Year 0 – The War of Ultimates ends; Novemterra is separated into World Shells

Year 1-100 P.W. – The Centiyear of Darkness (widespread violence, death, suffering, despair, and oppression; many survivors of the war perished)

Year 101 P.W. – The Revival Movement begins (Various scattered civilizations across the world begin rebuilding and reviving)

Year 123 P.W. – First Contact (Critical discovery is made that the world has been divided; civilizations realize that they are separated by layers of continents)

Year 150 P.W. – Awakening (races across the world begin experiencing radical changes in their physiology due to their new habitats)

Year 300 P.W. – Perpetual warfare on Impetus begins; on other World Shells, rebuilding continues

Year 301-350 P.W. – Relations are established between some races of various World Shells, primarily for trade, sharing of technology, and military assistance

Year 350 P.W. - The Kingdom of Somi is established by High Queen Kahlan Amnell-Somi.

Year 360 P.W. - The Jinam Protectorate is established under Grimjaw the Civilized Fang, after his ten-year Reunification War campaign to unite the savage clans.

Year 361 P.W. - Grimjaw the Civilized Fang is installed as the Jinam Protectorate's first Supreme Commander-General.

Year 700 P.W. - Most known civilizations have recovered sufficiently from the Great War to elevate their peoples out of survivalistic living conditions

Year 715 P.W. - New energy source (Mako) discovered on Zenith; replaces much of the older steam technologies across the cities over the next fifty years

Year 720 P.W. - Warring factions on Impetus begin deep-mining on Dark Star; helps to spur massive cultural exchange with indigenous peoples

Year 745 P.W. - Town of Sesolston fulfills population requirements and enters the Kingdom of Somi royal registry as a city. Granted official title "Somi-Sesolston."

Year 750 P.W. - Clashius Torida-Somi becomes Ninth King of Somi.

Year 760 P.W. - Hoborg IX becomes seventh Supreme Commander-General of the Jinam Protectorate.

Year 771 P.W. - Mining town on fringes of realm, Bartholomew, enters royal registry as city. Granted official title "Somi-Bartholomew."

Year 780 P.W. - Kingdom of Somi and the Junglekar Federation on Gaia implement cultural exchange program.

Year 785 P.W. – Present year. Start of game.
