Starting Location

The game begins in a large town called Somi-Sesolston, in the Kingdom of Somi, on the continent of Alishar, on Miderth, the fifth Shell.

There are many kingdoms on Alishar, and most go by the tradition of using their kingdom names with their largest cities for formal meetings, councils, and official business involving international affairs. Every kingdom has several such cities that are on the official register, as well as numerous smaller towns. The continent of Lecrosta is connected by a narrow land bridge known as the Passage of Hope.

Alishar (revised: 7/16/08)

  • The Kingdom of Tenamis (elven) - Along Somi's western border, past the Kiraj mountain range and the Sauron's Eye Lake, ten miles wide. Capital: Tena-Adun.
  • The Kingdom of LaGuarde (human) - Along Somi's southwester border; Capital: Crown-Guarde.
  • The Kingdom of Kadimous (human) - South of Somi; Capital: Kadi-Mugova.
  • The Kingdom of Panoma (half-elf) - Farther southeast of Somi, past Porre and Kadimous; Capital: Panoma-Baeza.
  • The Kingdom of Fiveron (dwarf) - Farther east of Somi, past Panoma; Capital: Five-Towns.
  • The Kingdom of Barti (human) - Far southeast of Somi, past Fiveron; Capital: Barti-Lundavos.
  • The Kingdom of Syrius (humanoid) - Far east; Capital: Sy-Myraen.
  • (Unclaimed) (monstrous humanoid) - Known by many names, the land directly southeast of Somi is unclaimed, filled with dangerous savage tribes and menacing creatures.
  • Mossflower country (monstrous humanoid) - A region of northeast Alishar that features its own territories and settlements.
  • The Tyrant Coast (monstrous humanoid) - A wild, untamed area along Alishar's eastern coast.

Lecrosta (revised: 7/16/08)

  • Kingdom of Daion (human) - Dai-Kasanga.
  • The Kingdom of Alcyonne (humanoid)
  • Kingdom of Suceddes (monstrous humanoid)
  • Kingdom of Porre (human) - Capital: Por-Tugal.
  • Kingdom of Burmecia (monstrous humanoid)
  • Kingdom of Medina (monstrous humanoid)

There are also other continents on Miderth, but they float separately from Alishar and Lecrosta. Characters native to Miderth know of two such landmasses, Vintara and Tenoa. Non-native characters may know less or nothing at all.

The Kingdom of Somi

The capital of the Kingdom of Somi is Somi-Siegard, known as "the Soldier City." It is the largest settlement in the Kingdom of Somi. Other large cities include Somi-Quasqueton, and Somi-Sesolston. Another large city (though significantly smaller than these three) is Somi-Bartholemew. The kingdom also boasts other large population centers.

The rural lands, particularly to the south, are divided into multiple areas ruled by local governing bodies which report to their nearby city every so often, who in turn report to the capital, Siegard. There are many villages and unregistered smaller towns in these other land areas.

Traveling From Sesolston:

Assuming an overland movement rate based on a base land speed of 30', the following is generally true:

  • Siegard - 10 days' travel on foot (N from Sesolston)
  • Quasqueton - 7 days' travel on foot (W from Sesolston)
  • Bartholemeow - 3 days' travel on foot (SW from Sesolston)
